Introduction

The daylight layer is a special layer type which draws an image of the day/night shading over the Earth's surface. Specifically, it draws black where it is night, and nothing where it is daylight. You can change the sun position in the layer Properties dialog. This layer looks best if you change its opacity to 70-80%.
