A simple flashcards applet so you can learn a few Chinese characters. The applet shows a character, its pinyin pronunciation and English meaning. There are about a hundred of the most common characters, as extracted from the Unicode Consortium's UniHan database.
The buttons down the sides control the display of the cards. The square buttons control which parts of each card is visible when it is shown. The round buttons override this for an individual card. Thus you can set cards to show only the characters, and then press the pinyin and text buttons to display the rest of each card after you've guessed the answer.
This applet requires that your browser can display Chinese. If you don't see the characters, you'll need to install Chinese language support on your computer.
